I am an Assistant Professor in the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Pennsylvania State University.
Research Interests: My research focuses on (i) identifying people’s privacy and security concerns, decision-making, and behaviors in emerging applications; (2) developing methods and tools to engage diverse stakeholders at scale in co-designing privacy, security, and governance solutions; (3) creating and benchmarking representative datasets while ensuring data owner privacy.
I employ qualitative and quantitative methods, including surveys, interviews, iterative design, experiments, server log analysis, and internet measurement studies. Additionally, I design, build, and evaluate prototypes through lab and field experiments.
A few directions of interest include:
- Secure systems design to verify human interaction and data authenticity in AI/ML pipeline.
- Privacy and security solutions for contextually situated communities
- Usable security and privacy for Web3/DeFi
- Human-in-the-loop [deliberative] governance for LLMs
Prospective Students: I’m looking for PhD students, interns to join my group. If you are interested in working with me, please review "Interested to Join Us" page first and send me an email with your CV.
